Below is the Hoof table taking into account the games from 29/09/12.

Never seen a Dragon with a Hoof?  Well, this is him and his name is Qilin.  According to Wikipedia, although he looks fearsome, the Qilin only punishes the wicked (our Opposition). It can walk on grass (astro turf) yet not trample the blades, and it can also walk on water (when playing at Harleston).  As it is a peaceful creature, its diet does not include flesh (only Kate’s Mum’s cheese sandwiches).  It takes great care when it walks never to harm or tread on any living thing (no treading on Young Dragons), and it is said to appear only in areas ruled by a wise and benevolent leader (can’t be referring to our President, can it?).  It is normally gentle but can become fierce if a pure person (NDHC Member) is threatened by a sinner (Opposition Player), spouting flames from its mouth and exercising other fearsome powers (Yellow Cards).

Talking of cards, Rich and Louise, organisers of the Dragon’s Hoof League Table have made an executive decision, not to include cards and to revert to the original proposal, that they know has worked for many years at Woking HC.  Obtaining data about cards would be onerous, untimely and unreliable.  Cards will make a big difference to scores and therefore if mistakes are made this could end up being rather unfair and contentious.  Whilst as a Club we do not condone cards, and take action against any yellow card for dissent or persistent yellow cards, it is not felt that The Dragon’s Hoof competition is the vehicle for penalising offenders.

Just to finish the Dragon and Chinese discussion, did you know that this year is the Chinese Year of the Dragon?  Let’s prove that on the pitch with our results 🙂
