26th June 2011 saw the official opening of our new hockey pitch at the Den, working with Hewett and Town Close to construct a pitch fit for an Olympian.

Richard Alexander and Niall Stott, both Olympians, came to inspire the Young Dragons of the day and play in some adult matches.

A second pitch was opened in 2014 after negotiations with Norwich High School for Girls.

This facility came into being as a result of hard work and determination by a Project Team that had the vision to create a new facility and keep the Club alive after Norwich Union Insurance decided to close the previous pitch in 2008 to allow for development of properties on the site.

Today that development still hasn’t happened and the old hockey pitch looks a sad sight, surrounded by the fence and floodlights, but nature has taken over!
