would like to formally invite you to our Summer 7’s Festival on 17th – 19th  July 2015.

The festival will take a similar format to previous years, with only 20 team spaces up for grabs!

We pride ourselves on providing a good weekend of mixed social hockey, along with great music, plenty of entertainment, food and drink!

Team registration will commence at 5.30pm on Friday evening when teams may collect their team pack from the festival office located in the main clubhouse. This includes the festival programme, entry wristbands, official WTHCfest15 t-shirt and food tokens.

The festival will being on Friday evening at 7pm with the WTHC’s Annual Beer-Pong Tournament. You can enter for this event at the festival office, with the chance to win cash prizes (winners and runners-up). Marked tables and World Cup rules apply with teams of two competing, until they withdraw or are knocked out of the tournament. The championship will continue on Friday until the semi-final stage. This will be followed by a Silent Disco with three music channels, including music videos and live mixing DJ’s finishing off the evening entertainment. (www.silentdiscouk.com)

NEW for this year – There will be hot food available to purchase from the clubhouse on Friday evening from 8pm by the famous WTHC’s Steph Garner, awarded #BestHockeyTeas by @HockeyIssues_

Saturday morning kicks off with breakfast from 8am. The round robin hockey matches will commence at 10am, being continued throughout the day, and played on a mixture of both grass and Astroturf pitches.

Saturday evening is Fancy Dress night, where your team is invited to “dress to impress” in whatever theme you choose. Sausage and chips (included in your team fee) will set the evening off before the fiercely contested semi-finals and finals of the Beer-Pong Tournament. The party will continue into the evening with the well-known Wisbech Cricket Club Stump Race, followed by a disco ‘til late with live DJ’s TBC.

Breakfast on Sunday morning is also included in the entry fee (bacon or sausage rolls). The round robin hockey matches will continue on Sunday, commencing at around 10.30am followed by knock-out games for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams taking place early afternoon. The winners’ presentation and raffle will complete the weekend at around 3pm.

  • On-site camping area, showering and changing facilities provided free of charge
  • Bar open all weekend with weekend long drink offers and 2 happy hours per day!
  • On-site burger and ice cream vans
  • 3 to 4 half-size pitches (2 astro, plus 1 or 2 grass pitches, depending on team entries)
  • Music all day
  • Beer Pong Tournament

  • 3 meals per person included in team fee (max 10)
  • On-site security presence during the evening entertainment

Prices:

£185 per team, consisting of a maximum of 10 players. Each player over this limit will be charged at an extra £15 per head, this includes entry wristband and meal tokens.

A non-refundable £60 deposit is required by close of play Tuesday 30th June, with the full balance being settled no later than Friday 3rd July to fully secure your place.

Phoenix HC

We are once again running a mixed 7’s tournament on July 4th from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The format will be league matches then semi Finals and a Final. Normal Mixed rules apply with each game lasting 20 to 30 minutes depending on number of entries. Cost is £70 per team. The tournament is at our Home ground at Four Releet in Braintree. Food will be available and the bar open.

West Country 7s Festival

Hello all,

 

I hope that this email finds you all well, and you are all looking ahead to fantastic Summer of Sport…

 

After a break in 2014 we are pleased to announce that the West Country 7s Festival is back in 2015!  We would love to welcome you back to the event this year and are excited about the plans that we have for the Festival…

 

The application form is attached for you, which details all sports, competitions and prices – the earlier you enter the cheaper it is!!

 

Confirmed Date

–       The West Country 7s Festival will be held on Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June 2015

 

New Location

–       We can confirm that the event will be held at Walcot RFC and Lansdown North Playing Fields in Bath

 

Introduction of New Sports

–       As well as Rugby 7s (Men’s Elite, Men’s and Womens Open & Social, Vets 10-a-side, Men’s Super-Social, Junior Under 14 and Under 15) we are also introducing the following:

o    Netball

o    Football 7s (Men’s and Ladies)

o    Hockey (Male and Female 7s) on grass (Application form says mixed, just add your sex in team name)

o    Touch (Mixed)

 

Entertainment

–       A proper West Country-themed event is planned, with plenty of cider to be drunk, food to be eaten, and music to be danced to.

 

Camping

–       All teams will this year have FREE CAMPING – we want you all to stay and make the evenings more exciting than the days!
