East League,  Ladies 1N
Norwich Dragons Ladies 1s v Cambridge City 3s:  3-3

Goalscorers:    Sarah Jenkins x2, Liv Leary
MOM:   Sarah Jenkins

The Ladies 1s drew 3-3 with Cambridge City 3s.  Blood, sweat and tears as the team fought throughout the whole game – a determination that we haven’t seen in previous weeks.  Dragons scored the first goal from a brilliantly worked short corner. A one, two, to be smashed in by Sarah Jenkins. At half time it was 1-1; the opposition scored from a short corner just before the whistle went for the break. In the second half, we went 2-1 up after another fantastic short corner and another strike from Sarah Jenkins to be deflected off a defender’s stick. The third goal came from a lovely drive to the base line by Lucy Morton who played it in to Liv Leary to hit in. Another two goals were scored by the opposition, the 2nd from open play on the break, and the 3rd from another short corner. A great game where all 50/50 balls were ours and, solid but dynamic defending. Great work from everyone. Player of the match went to Sarah Jenkins for her amazing goals and work upfront – well deserved.

Norwich Dragons Ladies 6s v Magpies 6s:  5-1

Goalscorers:  Adelice Stanley x3, Gemma Ballard x2
MOM:  Hatty Harrison-Mobbs

Ladies 6s go out strong and positive on a cold and breezy morning in the fields of Harleston to take on the Magpies 6s. We started on a high with 3 goals in quick succession by Adelice Stanley, which surprised both them and us if we are quite honest. Things calmed down a bit and the Magpies stole one back before half time. A rainy but sweets-filled half time talk later and we were back on form, for Gemma Ballard to score another two in the second half. Lots of fantastic play all round, with Hatty Harrison Mobbs stealing that MoM in the end. Final score 5:1, a great result to go into the (short) break with. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!!

Norwich Dragons Ladies 7s v Norwich City 6s:  2-1
FRIENDLY

Goalscorers:  Brittany Hopkins, Paige Fisher
MOM:  Mia Norris

Ladies 7s beat City 6s 2:1 in a friendly. Great game with dragons dominating. Cracking goals by Paige Fisher and Brittany Hopkins. Paige then received a ball to the wrist putting an end to her game. POM Mia Norris in her first adult game. Special mention to Ella Peart too as it was also her first adult match came 2nd in POM votes.

Empresa Norfolk Women’s League, Division 3
Norwich Dragons Ladies 8s v Norwich City 7s:  0-1

Ladies 8’s took on City 7’s away at Taverham and despite a great match with some fantastic goal opportunities we lost 1-0.

POM was deservedly awarded to Izzy Gale although there were plenty of others who could have taken away the title!

We welcomed Nola Mitchell to our team and she proved to be a strong asset as our goalie making some fantastic saves with lightning responses and confidence against a strategic opposition of Forwards when they got the ball in the D.

We were also delighted to have Rosie Tarleton with us and between her and Issy Gale they tirelessly took the ball up the pitch with the aid of Sophie James in midfield and in the first half we very much dominated the game with a Very near goal from Issy which packed some pace.

Two short corners in the first half sadly did not end to our advantage but we kept up the fight.

A goal to the opposition shortly before halftime did not dampen the Awesome 8’s spirits, needless to say!!!!

Emily Matthews proved a force to be reckoned with for our oppositions as a defender getting to the ball first and sending it back in the direction it came from, to the obvious annoyance of City players!!

Johanne Steward was our team captain and as always kept us strong and focused. It was a great match and hugely enjoyable for us all showing some amazing hockey skills honed from our Wednesday night sessions.

Well done to everyone who played.

Norwich Dragons Men’s 6s v  Dereham :  3-0

Goalscorer:  Mike Banham x2, Rich Draeger

Men’s 6th team win 3-0 against Dereham 4ths.   2 short corner strikes from Mike Banham in his first full match for Dragons of the season and a goal from Rich Draeger.   Some great passing hockey from the team created several more opportunities with the Dereham keeper making some great saves to keep the score down.   The defence prevented Dereham from having any shots on target and only one short corner conceded and cleared away.   The 6ths finish first half of the season with three league wins and confidence for the second half of the season.
