Getting to the Den

After 3 years away, Norwich Dragons Hockey Club returned to the City in 2011.  However with the planning permission for our new pitch came some requirements we need to fulfill.

One particularly important one was travel to the pitch.  We all now have to think about how we get to the new pitch for games and training in order to minimise any impact on the traffic around Norwich.

Walking and Cycling

Pedestrians and cyclists are well catered for in the area and on route to the pitch.  Please see the Green Travel Map  link on the Club Policies page which gives information on routes in the area.

As well as the above map, you can enter your journey details on this website and it will come up with a good route for you: http://walkit.com/

Do you want to cycle with someone to the pitch?  Register with this website: https://bikebudi.liftshare.com/

When you get to the pitch, there are lots of conveniently located, well designed cycle stands with a shelter outside the entrance to Goals.  There are lockers and showers too.

Car Sharing

Car sharing is a convenient way for club members to get to the pitch.  It is something that is common practice already for training and matches.

Each year, we will look to match club members who live in the same post code area and send them the information in order to encourage car sharing.  We will also help new members find matches as and when they join the club too.

Buses

The area around Goals is quite well served by bus routes.   Some services are shown below; these stop no more than an 8 minute walk from Goals.

You can see what services are best for you by using http://www.travelineeastanglia.org.uk, inputting your post code and ‘Goals’ (NR1 2GB) or the Hewett School (NR1 2PL).

Thank you for your cooperation.
